Sixers Host Past Wilt Chamberlain Memorial Fund Scholars

Since 2005, the Wilt Chamberlain Memorial Scholarship Fund has awarded scholarships to more than 50 local area high school seniors. Wilt Scholars have pursued their degrees at institutions across the country from as near as Temple University here in Philadelphia to as far away as the University of Florida.

On Dec. 20th, 10 previous Wilt Scholars gathered at the Sixers Home Arena to be honored and recognized at center court during a halftime ceremony. The Scholarship Awardees were presented with a certificate and a customized WCMF medal.

WCMF Committee Members Gloria Miller and Stephanie Ortiz were on-hand to present the medals to the Scholarship Awardees. The Awardees included; Quinn Dolan (2015), Daria Earland (2016), Jada Fields (2015), Navya George (2014), Imani Gordon (2014), Arielle Hunt (2015), Christopher Lee (2013), Hannah Miller (2015), Amanda Perluzzo (2013) and Santiago Vallejo (2016).

Before the halftime recognition, the Scholarship Awardees were invited to take part in a reception held in one of the Sixers Club Boxes pregame.

The 2017 WCMF Scholarship program includes scholarships of up to $20,000 to qualifying and selected students. Scholarships are available to students pursuing a 4-year undergraduate degree as well as those looking to attend 2 year vocational or community colleges.
